 July 14, 2012 – 1:00 p.m. at The Atlanta Life Building. There will b
 e at least 40 graduates celebrating the achievement of their GED (Gene
 ral Education Diploma).\nMay is the month thousands of young people th
 roughout Georgia march across stages to accept their high school diplo
 mas. This momentous occasion represents the culmination of a journey o
 f at least twelve years of dedication and focus. Unfortunately, thousa
 nds of others did not make that trip. They are the ongoing numbers of 
 high school dropouts indicative of a crisis happening, not only in Geo
 rgia, but throughout America. Last year alone, more than 60,000 young 
 people did not graduate in Georgia (Alliance on Excellent Education) a
 nd more than 1 million throughout our nation. About 10% of all high sc
 hools produce more than 40% of the nation’s dropout and are often re
 ferred to as dropout factories (Alliance for Excellent Education). Wit
 h an ever-demanding global economy and the need for a highly skilled w
 orkforce, it is evident that partnerships must be formed to address th
