I am disappointed with the decision. However, the looting and burning down of businesses are senseless and counter-productive. The federal investigation is still on-going and civil charges may be brought against Officer Darren Wilson. The grand jury has spoken not to indict Officer Wilson. Therefore, the decision of the jury is final and conclusive. A. D. King Foundation appeals for calm and peaceful demonstrations. There is a mistrust between the police and the policed, the laws need urgent review to address the perceived injustice in our criminal-justice laws. Our hearts go out to the parents of Michael Brown for the loss of their son. Moreover, non-violent social change strategies or means may be the answer, and it is only for the courageous people. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere, MLK.Jr.

I am so sad this morning. I just pray that we as a society learned a lesson from this tragedy so it will never happen again. I am reminded of what a great man once said:

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."

We must now, more than ever, bring Mrs. King's message of love and compassion to the world. And never, never, never, never, never - never ever - give up on our youth, on our dreams, on our mission. We must now, more than ever, continue the amazing work that we are doing.

And keep praying, keep loving, keep dreaming!!!

Please read Dr. Babs' beautiful response below to the Ferguson decision.
I love you all and so grateful to have you all in my life and in my circle of support. We need to continue to support and love each other.

With a heavy heart (I need some laughter and some hugs!),
Your partner in love,
Debbie

Dr. Babs,

Well stated and support the statements made; however, in addition to your supported statements, we as a people in America have forgotten the need to develope new leaders for each generation and acknowledge the weakness of having the same follks in limited positions for a lifetime continually making the same agreements which no one knows about but them!
