Solicit Corporate To Sponsor Floats For Low Income Kids at Elementary, Middle and High Schools

The unalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is only for those who are prepared. Education is the key and vehicle to that future. The epidemic failure of our educational system is at an alarming stage, and the future of our kids are endangered or at best non-existence.

In our state of Georgia over 60,000 of young people did not complete high school successfully this year alone. In five years about 60% of this population will be dead or incarcerated. This is the challenge we must address as a community, as a state and as a nation, otherwise, our nation will cease to exist as a super power and the hope and future of America is at risk.

King Empowerment parade is designed to bring awareness to this epidemic problem, promote excellent educational strategies, show case talents, pride, embrace educational values, mentoring, coaching, and prescriptive intervention methods and practices.
I need your help to get corporate to sponsor floats for low-income kids at elementary, middle and high schools...the parade of Hope for the future of America.

Will you join me in this effort? We must not fail; we cannot fail. It is a task that must be done for our sake and that of our future generation.

Can I count on you? Are you in? Can we do it together? I am ready are you?

Welcome ideas , strategies and feedback!!!

Perhaps we need more than corporations to sponsor these floats.  The cost of a float can range from the bare minimal to the extreme frivolous.  We must first ask, what goal do we have in mind for these kids to work on?  The aim is for low-income elementary kids.  We could elicit the help of small businesses in the local community as well as entrepreneurs to donate some money to show they care.  We could even ask local art stores / big chains to donate supplies for the cause.  Small charitable donations are just as precious and valuable as what a big corporation could do.  It exemplifies the support the community has in their neighborhood and may lure in others (such as corporations or big name players) to partake.

The media is an excellent medium to spread the message.  I’m sure the news will be willing to use some film to promote an upcoming parade.  It would create great buzz and may lead to other possibilities.  Channels like CNN, Fox, Univision or even PBS will want coverage if the parade will have a huge impact on the education system.  It’s also an uplifting story that will stand out amongst all the other evil deeds occurring in our times.

We could have the children write and send personal (anonymous, of course) letters out to corporations and businesses requesting help.  Mass letters will get received and let them know how much we would appreciate the help of the successful.  Just by volume, it could sway even the most heavy-handed person to donate money and time if necessary.  Hand written letters, I feel are more effective because, although they may not get read, they contain an attached purpose and meaning.  And if they letters are cute enough, that would be a bonus too if they get opened.

I agree Dr. Babs. This is a problem has become epidemic. I believe one of the reasons why this problem has gotten so out of control is because of the negative impact of the media. Chidren are very impressionable. They follow what they see and if the parent is not their to guide them or if the parent is themselves a negative influence, than this is what we get.We have a generation of brainwashed children that have no morals and school is no safe-haven anymore either. I can remember a time when I was very little, we could pray in school. But now, we live in a society where democracy means do and live how you feel. Which is technically the first ammendment right. But where do we draw the line? Only time will time.

I totally agree with the idea and strategy that Dr. Babs has put in place to help lower income schools with the parades and the sponsorships. It seems as though America has given up on the lower income schools and really dont care one bit. They are continuing  to build jails and prisons at alarming rate, however i think that some of that money should be put into helping our youth. If no one continue to care then our youth will continue to drop out of school or end up in prison where they will serve no purpose to society. I cant wait for this opportunity to help our youth and im really excited about it.

Its a great idea to find sponsors for low income students but teenagers also has fault in the drop out rate, you can't help someone who doesn't want to be help. But maybe we need more people to encourage our young people, we should look at things from both aspects. We need to find more people to be involve in the parade, people that would grasp the young people attention like celebrities or powerful encouraging speakers.

DR BABS I THINK THAT WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS A GREAT IDEA. I THINK THAT THERE ARE MANY CORPORATE SPONSORS THAT WILL HELP IN SO MANY WAYS. I TRULY BELEIVE IN WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND I FULLY SUPPORT YOU IN YOUR EFFORTS.IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU COULD GET SOME FORTUNE 500 COMPANYS TO HELP YOU. THAT IS A GREAT PLACE TO START.

Dr. Naomi Ruth King condemns in its strongest possible terms the cowardly act of discriminately, killing three innocent people randomly just because of their race in Jacksonville, Florida. This is an injustice and atrocity committed against humanity by a white supremacy bigot and his hatred ideology. Dr. King stated that injustice anywhere…
