It is usually common for athletes to have tight Testcore Procalf muscles and this is especially true to runners, cyclist, and gym rats that frequently use cardio equipment. The calf muscle is composed of the gastrocnemius and soleus muscle. If repeated movement is done in the calf muscle, you may experience symptoms of gradual tightening in this area and this may even get worse. One of the measures to counteract this and what Pilates instructors usually do as well is to lengthen the muscles of the calves, is by performing an exercise called running or also known as tendon stretch.
When you hear the word running the usual activity could come into mind. This may not be the correct idea you are having if this is done in a reformer. The main purpose of running is to stretch the muscles of the calves and the Achilles tendon. This should be done in slow motion because if done in a bouncing motion it can pull a muscle or may injure a client.
